Christopher Dierig was the Project Manager for a new preschool for the Gramercy Park Chabad. The design fosters flexibility and interaction of age groups by utilizing overhead garage doors, openings to a central atrium space for play and community events. Inside the classrooms are kid-sized zones with tree house lofts for active and private play, cozy reading areas with fireplaces, and wet/art zones. Windows in the doors are placed at kid height to encourage discovery of other areas of the school. A storefront shop with full glazing to the classrooms allows visibility from the street.
